Cheng Ming Israel – The Israeli Tai Chi Center

If you want to learn Tai Chi and improve your health and quality of life, your place is with us. The Israeli Tai Chi Center was established in 1987, and today it is the most professional school in Israel for Tai Chi and internal martial arts, with a growing community of hundreds of students, a vast and comfortable training facility located in the developing area of Tel Aviv and many more branches throughout the country.

Tai Chi is an ancient martial and movement art that originated in China. The nature of Tai Chi practice is gentle, with flowing, loose and soft movements, and it is sometimes referred to as meditation in motion. Tai Chi improves balance, fitness, flexibility, strength, concentration, and coordination. In addition to its physical benefits, many practitioners find that Tai Chi helps calm the mind, achieve inner peace and mental balance, and improve quality of life.

At the Israeli Tai Chi Center, we see the practice as a tool for personal empowerment and offer a wide variety of Tai Chi classes for beginners, Qi Gong classes, and classes for more advanced students. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the basics of Tai Chi, helping you improve your movement and technique as you progress.

We take pride in a safe training environment, a high level of professional training, a warm, friendly, non-competitive atmosphere, personal and supportive care for each student, and a special emphasis on improving health and internal balance.

Our training concept believes in a harmonious combination of body, mind, and spirit with the aim of creating the perfect connection between the magic and wisdom of ancient martial art and the reality of modern life.

Our Tai Chi and Cheng Ming System

Our tai chi style is called the Cheng Ming style, a unique style that contains characteristics and influences from all five main tai chi styles: Chen, Yang, Wu-Hao, Wu, and Son. The Cheng Ming style is the only style that gives the practitioner all the benefits of all the other styles, so it is considered the most complete.

The Cheng Ming System was founded in Taiwan by Grand Master Wong Shu Jin, one of the most well-known and important martial artists of the 20th century, and is based on centuries-old traditional knowledge passed down through the best teachers in their field. The most senior student of Grand Master Wong Shu Jin is Master Wong Fu Lai, the head of the Cheng Ming today. The Israeli Tai Chi Center is the only official representative in Israel of the International Cheng Ming System, which is based in Taiwan.

What Else Do We Teach

Apart from Tai Chi, the Cheng Ming System also contains the other two most well-known internal martial arts, Xing Yi and Ba Gua. While Xing Yi emphasizes the use of explosive power and sharp and direct movement, Ba Gua is based on evasion strategies, bodywork, flow, and changes. The combination of these three martial arts is the greatest advantage of the Cheng Ming System.

However, in addition to the enormous variety of movements and many interesting techniques, the benefits that practicing martial art gives us in our daily life are no less important to us.

Improving balance, flexibility, strength, posture, concentration, focus, and peace of mind. All these and more are benefits that are a result of training, and also apply to everyday life. No wonder some say martial art is the art of living. In our training, we place a strong emphasis on awareness of understanding and improving these abilities, knowing that they are the most important key to improving health and quality of life.

We also teach Qi Gong, a Chinese exercise system whose purpose is to flow and balance the life energy, qi, in the body, thus strengthening the internal organs and the various body systems. Practicing Qi Gong together with martial arts can be a great way to further improve physical and mental resilience, and develop focus and discipline.

Our Vision

For us, the instructors, the Israeli Tai Chi Center is first of all a home. A safe and pleasant space where we all come to study and exercise of course, but also to meet friends and sit with them over a cup of coffee or tea. We are proud of our professional abilities but no less of the community we have established and the unique atmosphere in the dojo.

We are very proud to be the official representatives of the International Cheng Ming System in Israel. We believe in the system and the good it can bring to everyone who practices it, and we are committed to teaching it in the best possible way. All our instructors grew up in the dojo and are still students who continue to study and develop.

Master Wong Fu Lai says that the origin of the name Cheng Ming is a nickname given to his teacher, Grand Master Wong Shu Jin, a nickname that indicates the spirit of the system he founded:

The word 'Cheng' refers to transparency.
The word 'Ming' refers to integrity, honesty, and fairness.

A beginner student, advanced student, instructor, teacher, or master, everyone has a duty to honesty, integrity, and fairness, each towards himself and towards others. According to these values, we train and teach.

Cheng Ming System is transparent and open to anyone who wants to learn and practice. There are no secret katas, no mysterious medicine methods, and no secret or blocked content. Everything is transparent and open and every student can learn all the content that the system offers: Tai Chi, Xing Yi, and Ba Gua.

Our vision is to make you part of our family too. We want to show you the beauty of our system, the power hidden within it, and how it can make you a better martial artist and a better person.

We strive to teach the method while taking into account the needs, goals, and limits of each student. We encourage curiosity, questions, and learning from mistakes, and are always here to direct, support, and help with any problem that arises, professional or personal.

We know from our personal experience that by teaching the system we have the opportunity to positively influence the lives of others, and therefore we engage in it wholeheartedly, without ego, and with great joy.

Our Partners

The Israeli Tai Chi Center in Tel Aviv is indeed the official representative of the International Cheng Ming System in Israel, but we are definitely not alone, we have partners. The Israeli Tai Chi Center has a large number of branches throughout Israel, from north to south, where our students instruct. These dear friends continue to come regularly to the dojo to train, learn, renew, and above all maintain a personal relationship that has already been forged and strengthened over the years.

International Cheng Ming System has many schools around the world: in Japan, Italy, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries. The head of the International Cheng Ming System, Master Wong Fu Lai, usually visits each of the schools once a year, including Israel of course, teaching seminars to students.

Come to Train With Us

The uniqueness of the Cheng Ming System is that it allows for continuous and never-ending study. Indeed, many students who have already been captivated by the Cheng Ming charms continue to train and develop for many years. The method is suitable for almost everyone, of any age, young and old, women and men. The variety of content and lessons at our school allow each student to find his own way, and to feel a significant improvement in his personal ability in a short time.

Given the uncompromising pace of life in the modern world, we sometimes tend to forget the most important thing, ourselves. Martial arts can change lives. It creates controlled coping situations for us, forces us to meet ourselves, puts us in front of a mirror, and allows us to find renewed inspiration and deep strength on the way to restoring our inner balance. And what starts inside us radiates outward and has a positive effect on our immediate environment as well.

After many years of training, we have no doubt that practicing martial arts is a wonderful journey that will allow you to get to know yourself better, connect with your inner self, learn to love yourself, become physically and mentally stronger, increase self-confidence and acquire practical tools in order to achieve a better quality of life.

At the Israeli Tai Chi center you can find classes for all levels. Tai Chi for beginners, Qi Gong, Xing Yi, Ba Gua, traditional weapons, moving meditation, fitness training, technique training, advanced training, seminars, and more.

So if you want to learn something new, unique, and fascinating that will make you feel healthier, stronger, and more whole, and also meet some new friends along the way, we at the Israeli Tai Chi Center invite you to sign up and go on a magical journey with us.
